FleetMind is a privately owned company which delivers fleet management technology solutions to Waste and LTL transportation companies across North America. With increased pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity, enhanced fleet and driver tracking is critically important to this industry’s long-term profitability.
Reporting to the R&D Director, the Senior Software Architect will be responsible to provide technical leadership for the R&D initiatives and ensure the productivity and data integrity of our solutions to align with our product vision. In this role, the Senior Software Architect will be responsible for the evolution of the appropriate architecture, design choices and maintain consistency across all functional development groups to ensure that the product meets its objectives in terms of quality, functionality, scalability, robustness and high availability. This is a key role within the company that requires an individual to posses a solid technical background, as well as the ability to coach top talent in an effort to build a team that will consistently deliver quality results.
The Senior Architect will participate in the preparation and analysis of design specifications based on business requirements and the preparation of proposals as applicable. The Senior Software Architect will be expected to be hands-on and to actively participate in the S/W development. This will account for at least 60% of his/her time.
He/she will also provide input for the evaluation of development effort. The senior architect must also contribute to the constant improvement of the development process and associated tools.
The ideal candidate:
- At a minimum holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, with at least 10-12 years of software development and architecture experience in an object-oriented environment heavily integrated to third party systems.
- Has a solid background in real time distributed client/server systems, service oriented architecture and database applications using C#/C++, .NET, COM/DCOM, XML, HTML, ASP, SSL, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SQL DB. You are experienced with design and analysis methodologies and application development processes and tools.
- Enjoys working in a technically challenging environment that allows you to show your creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- Has an inquisitive and open mind, enjoys learning about new technologies and has demonstrated the ability to deliver time to market results.
- Is autonomous with excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills, and most importantly enjoys being part of a team.
