FleetMind is a privately owned company which delivers fleet management technology solutions to Waste and LTL transportation companies across North America. With increased pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity, enhanced fleet and driver tracking is critically important to this industry’s long-term profitability.
Reporting to the R&D Director, the candidate will participate in the analysis, design, and development of features for the company’s fleet management product line. He/she will take part in projects involving the integration of real time .NET based applications with vehicular telemetry gathering components, video systems, RFID scanning systems, leading edge weighing technology, analytics and mobile communication technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, test and support object-oriented distributed applications using .NET 3.5 technologies in C# & C++ in Windows CE/Windows Mobile platforms.
- Work in conjunction with software testers and customer support specialists to reproduce and resolve different bugs in the product.
- Provide feedback to product management on optimization & improvement opportunities to the product.
- Manage your time to respect milestones and delivery dates.
- Work as a proactive development team member to ensure optimal feature development and optimization abilities, knowledge sharing and issue resolution capabilities.
The ideal candidate:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in application development
- Has strong working knowledge of C# and .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and real time multi-thread application development would be an asset.
- Experience with wireless communication network, CAN Bus interface, video mgmt systems, RFID scanning systems and VoIP would be an asset.
